Design Problem: BASF customers are having difficulty understanding how to take advantage of a series of overlapping discounts on materials they purchase due to a large number of discount rules. Design Solution: The calculator allows BASF sales representatives to breakdown and clearly show how different purchase decisions affect the cumulative cost of the products and all applicable discounts. |

| Result: The calculator simplifies the sales discussion between the sales team and the customer. It provides accurate discount information, which allows the farmer to immediately see how changes in his purchasing decision affect his discount. By shifting the complex calculations to the calculator and presenting the results in a clear format, both the sales team and customer have more confidence in the accuracy of the pricing. |
